Subject: w3m: Characters displayed differently when given as entities
Date: Sun, 19 Mar 2006 19:08:53 +0100
Package: w3m
Version: 0.5.1-4
Severity: wishlist

As shown in the example http://www.student.lu.se/~lak04vlo/chartest.xhtml.utf8, some characters are shown differently depending on if they are given as entities (å, ä and so on) or just appear in the text. It is not like that in w3mmee.

I'm not sure if it's a bug or even a wishlist item, since anyone can switch to w3mmee, but it seems strange that they are displayed differently.

Hi

If you use -o alt_entity=0 ("Use ASCII equivalents to display
entities" = No) then all these entities should look the same as if they
appeared in the text.
