It would really be nice if KDE uses the SSL certificates from the
ca-certificates package instead of using its own file. Currently, it
only uses the certificates in /usr/share/apps/kssl/ca-bundle.crt. I
think, this could be made possible by making that a symlink to
/etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt and depending on ca-certificates.

Hi,
it seems that bug 348892 rots in the BTS forever. OTOH, this is currently the
only sane way to add certificates (e.g. from cacert.org) to KDE :-(
Currently, I use
# dpkg-divert --local --rename \
--divert /usr/share/apps/kssl/ca-bundle.kdelibs-data.crt \
--add /usr/share/apps/kssl/ca-bundle.crt
# ln -s /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt /usr/share/apps/kssl/ca-bundle.crt
It would be better to do this in the package itself.

Message #17 received at 348892-done@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
This bug has been reported against an ancient version of KDE3,
that was last released with Debian 6.0 (squeeze). But
even squeeze-lts has now reached end-of-life and is no longer supported.
The bug is assumed to be fixed (or no longer relevant) in KDE4 or newer
releases and therefore I'm closing this report now.
If the problem is still reproducible in the currently supported
versions, feel free to provide more information, reopen
and reassign this bug report.
Andreas
