Hi,
Since I became maintainer for the em8300 packages, I've become active on
the upstream side of that package. I don't think it is a good idea that
upstream is also the sole debian maintainer of the package. Hence, I
hereby request an adopter for the em8300 package. Please note that team
maintainance is alright as far as I am concerned (I'd be happy to be
part of the team), but if someone volunteers to be the sole maintainer
of the package, I hve no objection. Also note that I'd be happy to
sponsor uploads for NM.
The common package description is:
Drivers for MPEG decoder cards based on Sigma Designs' EM8300 chip
(such as the Creative Labs DXR3 or the Sigma Designs Hollywood+).
.
Currently the device drivers support decoding MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 streams
and generating video on the TV-out and VGA Overlay connectors. Audio can
be played through the analog or S/PDIF digital connectors.
Thanks in advance,
Nicolas

Since 2.6.20 released in February 2007, Linux supports these cards.
At least this is what I understand from reading
Documentation/video4linux/bttv/Cards?
