I solved a sudoku, got the solved window, and hit OK. GNOME Sudoku then
gave me a blank board for some reason. I chose File->New to generate a
new sudoku, and then solved it. Unlike the first sudoku, I did not get
the solved window after I finished, though the game is correctly solved
(all squares filled and no red squares). The attached screenshot shows
the game window after this situation.

I also have the not solved problem, but I've noticed that it was only when you made a mistake during the game. When you go through the board without any mistake, you can solve it.
The board, as not flagged as solved, will also stay in the "Resume old game" dialog.

I have found another case.
It's when you type a character that isn't a number. The game doesn't
indicate that you've made a mistake. But it has the same consequence :
the game can't be solved. So the board, as not flagged as solved, will
also stay in the "Resume old game" dialog.

I have the same problem, but for me it happens when I solve the last
square by pressing the "Automatically fill in the current square if
possible."-button.
Removing this last answer and typing it in manually DOES open the solved
window.

After solving a few puzzles, the program fails to recognize that I've
solved one. If I enter this puzzle manually as a "custom game" in a
fresh gnome-sudoku window, it works OK and gives me the "solved" dialog.
So I doubt there's anything special about the particular puzzle (#50),
but I've attached a screenshot anyway.

The gnome-sudoku package has been removed from Debian testing, unstable and
experimental, so I am now closing the bugs that were still opened
against it.
For more information about this package's removal, read
http://bugs.debian.org/430551 . That bug might give the reasons why
this package was removed, and suggestions of possible replacements.
Don't hesitate to reply to this mail if you have any question.
Thank you for your contribution to Debian.
