Subject: wvdialconf hangs during scan of ircomm ports
Date: Thu, 22 Sep 2005 18:18:55 -0600
Package: wvdial
Version: 1.54.0-1
Severity: important

On a system with ircomm drivers loaded, the scan
# wvdialconf /etc/wvdialconf
hangs during the scan of ircomm ports, at least on some Systems.
This was encoutered on an Avectech laptop under a 2.6.11 kernel
Even if the ircomm-tty.ko driver is initially unloaded,
the alias lines in /etc/modprob.d/aliases prompt reloading of the
drivers and the Hang recurrs. Commenting out the aliases lines bypasses
the problem. But presumable wvdialconf can itself be fixed/protected
