The default config file (bbmail.bb) from upstream has two config settings
commented out. They are:

bbmail.withdrawn
and
bbmail.shape

These must be uncommented in order for bbmail to work. A comment in
this case is a '!'. Remove them and you should be good to go.

You can find the config file bbmail.bb in /usr/share/bbtools.

You can copy it to your own home directory as
$HOME/.bbtools/bbmail.bb and edit it there.

Strange; mine now crashes on the first try.

Hmm, thats another bug. Cloneing now.

The file in /usr/share/ should not affect the runtime parameters. The
program should be modified to read the copy in /etc/ and ~/. only. It
doesn't look like the copy in /etc/ is getting used at all. So it
should be a simple change to the code, or maybe just to the configure
options.

Package: bbmail
Version: 0.8.3-3
Severity: important

bbmail 0.8.3-5 works if you uncomment

    bbmail.withdrawn: True
    bbmail.shape: True

in /etc/bbtools/bbmail.bb.

Separately, if bbmail.withdrawn if set to False, or executed at the
commandline without -w, it crashes. This is a known bug (#380670)
and hopefully will be addressed in upstream's next release, which is
due soon.

bbmail, as of 0.8.3-5, no longer looks to /usr/share/bbtools for
runtime parameters. Instead, it looks at $HOME/.bbtools/bbmail.bb
and then at /etc/bbtools/bbmail.bb.
