Hi!

Please generate a POT file during the package build. This is a
template file that is used as a basis for translating this software
into other languages. It is important that the POT file is always up
to date and exactly matches all the strings (including strings from
Debian-specific changes), so it is not enough to just put a static one
into the package. Apart from being used manually, this POT file can
also be extracted automatically and be used with translation
frontends like gtranslator or Rosetta.

You can get the patch at

  http://patches.ubuntu.com/patches/glade-2.potfile.diff

Thanks for considering and have a nice day!

Martin

This is a follow up to Debian bug 313520.

Hi,

Does this bug still happen with glade version 2.12.1-7 (or later) on an
up to date Etch system?

I'm closing this bug as there have been no activity, or no response to
followup questions, and new releases of the package in question which
likely has fixed this bug or made it obsolete.

Feel free to reopen the report if you think the bug still is valid.

This bug is entirely valid still, debian/rules does not call
intltool-update -p and neither does the upstream build system.

Hi,

glade-2 is being removed from the archive in favour of glade-3, which
uses cdbs. If I'm not mistaken this means that the pot file generation
happens automatically in Ubuntu, right?

Ugh, that soon already? I guess we'll keep it in Ubuntu for a while
still. Last time I tried glade-3 it still sucked in many ways, and I
think I'm not alone with this.

If it uses gnome.mk, then it will. If not, it's easy enough to include
langpack.mk.

However, please note that POT file generation is not really an Ubuntu
specific issue. Translators which work on Debian depend on up to date
POT files as well.

Thanks,

Martin
