Subject: qcad: memory used for undo information is never freed
Date: Sun, 17 Apr 2005 23:07:21 +0100
Package: qcad
Version: 2.0.4.0-1-2
Severity: important

Accordingly to the package documentation, undo history is infinite, this
can make memory used by qcad grow indefinitely. Shouldn't this memory be
freed when the draw is saved or closed? I believe it should, but it
doesn't happen (at least on my system - could it be some issue with the
memory management in kernel 2.6? I'm using kernel 2.6.10).

Even if I close all draws in qcad, the memory used for undo isn't freed.
When I'm working with fairly large number of entities, memory used by
qcad grows very quickly and I find myself quitting/reopening qcad at
least once per hour (the only way I could find to free up the memory
used by qcad). This is quite annoying.

I'm sorry if this isn't a bug, please feel free to reassign it as a
wishlist item.

Regards,
Bruno Gravato.

I consider it's a bug, so I'm going to report it to upstream.

Subject: qcad removed from Debian
Date: Thu, 24 Nov 2011 14:27:34 -0500
qcad has been removed from Debian, so I'm closing these bugs.

A qt4 fork of Debian is available as the package "librecad" in Debian
[1]. The code base is been greatly modified and expanded, and may of
the bugs on this list has been fixed (and I'm unsure of the others.)

If there are any outstanding bugs or feature requests for librecad,
please note that upstream is very responsive to bug and feature
requests [2].
