I think this is due to the form of URIs passed by w3m to file-roller,
and I also think that this particular bug is due to the fact that
file-roller has a local copy of some libegg code and didn't update it
when bugs were fixed in libegg...
I've forwarded the problem upstream.

Hi,
You're right that it doesn't crash anymore, but it also doesn't work:
when "clicking" a zip the archive manager (file roller) is opened, but
it keeps saying "Reading archive" (with Archive: w3mtmp9714-0.zip as an
example of a filename) and does that forever. Downloading the file
manually and opening it with file-roller works fine. Just not from w3m...

Hi,
I will reopen the upstream bug about this, but if possible, I'd like to
reproduce the bug first.
Not being a w3m user, how do I force w3m to open file-roller instead of
downloading the file?

I'm not sure, it just opens it with file-roller when I 'click' on a zip
file.

I see, I wonder if this has anything to do with how the web server is
configured to serve the file? Does it happen with a specific site or for
all?
How do you run w3m, from a terminal or within Emacs?
