Subject: ifplugd: iflugd breaks udev when customizing names of network devices

Package: ifplugd
Version: 0.26-1
Severity: important

hi there,

when renaming network interfaces in udev like

<snip type="udev-rules">
KERNEL="eth*", SYSFS{address}="00:30:b4:00:00:00", NAME="eth_prism54"

# realtek onboard
KERNEL="eth*", SYSFS{address}="00:0c:6e:52:02:e0", NAME="eth_onboard"

# cnet cardbus
KERNEL="eth*", SYSFS{address}="00:08:a1:49:d6:70", NAME="eth_cnet"
</snip>

they appear as configured after the reload of the corresponding
modules...

once ifplugd is installed on the system, the devices are again
conventionally named (eth0, eth1, ...),but the setup of udev is ignored.

for notebooks that use different cardbus network cards (WLAN, LAN, etc.) this is a bit of a pity...

salut,
mike gabriel
