Package: postfix
Version: 2.1.4-5
Severity: wishlist
Hi,
it would be really nice, if the libspf2 patch (http://www.ipnet6.org/postfix/spf/)
could be included into the mainstream Debian postfix packages.
Kind regards,
Martin List-Petersen

You have to apply this patch to make the compile failures go away:

I'll upload SPF when upstream includes it.

The Postfix policy service was introduced to support additions of added
features (like SPF checking). The SPF project - http://www.openspf.org/ -
recommends against adding 3rd party patches to core MTA components for SPF.
All such patches have been removed from their list of SPF implementations:
http://www.openspf.org/Implementations
There are two SPF policy servers currently packaged for Lenny/Sid:
postfix-policyd-spf-perl
postfix-policyd-spf-python (still called python-policyd-spf in Lenny for a few
more days)
Use one of these instead. Additionally, libspf2 has not been completely
updated to support the final RFC 4408 SPF design. The SPF libraries used by
the policy servers are RFC compliant.

tumgreyspf is a 3rd SPF policy server that's also available in Lenny/Sid.
