Message #5 received at submit@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Package: autoconf
Version: 2.59-8
Severity: minor
The info documentation, and presumably anything else derived from the
same source, lists this reference
(6) Autoconf Developer Page, <http://sources.redhat.com/autoconf/>
on the Pointers page. That doesn't seem to work anymore, and a quick
poke around sources.redhat.com did not reveal a successor (just links
to the software itself or the autobook).
The Libtool page, toward the end, says "Although Libtool, like
Autoconf, can be used on its own" This is misleading: libtoolize
requires autoconf. Someone on the libtool list asserted flatly that
libtool itself requires autoconf; our own Debian packager says that is
not strictly true except for libtool. See
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=282725 for more on
this point.

Autoconf doesn't have any info documentation anymore. It was
non-free and has been removed. If you're aware of other
references to this in the Autoconf package then I'll fix those.
For now I'm closing the bug.

OK. I forwarded this report upstream, so they can deal with it if
they choose.
I'm a little surprised that the docs are going entirely; I thought
they'd just be moved to non-free.

I don't package non-free software. Some other Debian developer
may package the Autoconf docs though. There's a RFP out on that
now.
