The current maintainer of perl-tk, Stephen Zander <gibreel@debian.org>,
is apparently not active anymore. Therefore, I orphan this package
now. If you want to be the new maintainer, please take it -- see

instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Description: Perl module providing the Tk graphics library.
Perl/Tk (also known as pTk or ptk) is a collection of modules and
code that attempts to wed the easily configured Tk 4 widget toolkit
to the powerful lexigraphic, dynamic memory, I/O, and object-oriented
capabilities of Perl 5. In other words, it is an interpreted
scripting language for making widgets and programs with Graphical
User Interfaces (GUI).
.
A good place to get started is by running the "widget" demo that's
installed with this package.

I'm working on packaging VOCP (www.vocpsystem.com), portions of which
require perl-tk. I intend to adopt perl-tk.

Hi.
I currently inspect the Debian wnpp bug list and search for old ITAs
(Intent to Adopt) that are mistitled.
You have expressed in bug report #279823 [0] the intent to adopt
the package "perl-tk". The last comment to this from you is dated from
11-11-2004, which is more than three months ago. Do you still intent to adopt
this package? If not, please retitle the bug, substituting "O:" for "ITA:".

Yes, I still intend to adopt perl-tk. I discovered that the new version
of perl-tk doesn't work in an identical manner to the current perl-tk.
Rather than delay sarge by uploading a package that would require
several rebuilds, I delayed my upload. Now that sarge has been
released, I can release my updated perl-tk package.

Sarge has been released for a while. When do you intend to upload your
package?

Soon. I need to notify the maintainers of packages that depend on
perl-tk since the new version isn't a drop in replacement for the
current version.
