The current maintainer of libfile-counterfile-perl, Stephen Zander <gibreel@debian.org>,

instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Description: Persistent counter class for Perl
This module implements a persistent counter class. Each counter
is represented by a separate file in the file system. File
locking is applied, so multiple processes might try to access
the same counters at the same time without risk of counter
destruction.
Justification: Mail bouncing for 3 months, last upload half a year ago

Hi.
I currently inspect the Debian wnpp bug list and search for old ITAs
(Intent to Adopt) that are mistitled.
You have expressed in bug report #279784 [0] the intent to adopt
the package "libfile-counterfile-perl". The last comment to this from you is dated from
17-12-2004, which is more than three months ago. Do you still intent to adopt
this package? If not, please retitle the bug, substituting "O:" for "ITA:".

Yes, I still indend to adopt this package.
If someone else has a more pressing need than I for an updated package,
they are welcome to contact me and take over the ITA.

Just so I don't ping you unnecessarily, the same applies to
libnet-ssleay-perl, libopengl-perl, libxml-filter-xslt-perl,
libxml-sax-writer-perl, and libconvert-ber-perl?
Also, I see you filed a wishlist bug against libfile-counterfile-perl.
Ivan Kohler, its prospective adopter, said in #279784 that he doesn't
mind if someone more interested takes over. Perhaps you'd like to
take it?
(Please keep the Cc.)
Thanks!

I'll upload libnet-ssleay-perl, libxml-filter-xslt-perl and
libxml-sax-writer-perl as soon as I am allowed to do uploads. I don't
want to waste much time on finding some sponsors because time is quite
rare for me currently.
I also would like to maintain libopengl-perl, but I'm not sure yet if I
can fix that RC bug. I haven't looked into it very deep, yet.
WRT libconvert-ber-perl: I'd like to see it removed from the archive
because it provides the same functionality than libconvert-asn1-perl
with out having any other clear benefit. Only one application seemed to
use it a while ago. I filed a bug asking if they could migrate to
Convert::ASN1. No answer yet.

We are doing pings because the QA Group has way too much on its plate,
not because bureaucracy is fun.

It's been ten months since you filed the original ITA on libchart-perl
and libfile-counterfile-perl, and they have a total of 5 outstanding
bugs. Are you going to adopt them or not?

None of which are huge deals and certainly don't hinder my use of these
packages every day. Please.
Are you going to adopt them or not?
Yes, I still intend to adopt these packages.
If you have a more pressing need than I to have any of those five bugs
fixed, please, by all means, feel free to take over the ITA.

Hello,
This is an automatic mail sent to retitle the ITA you have reported or
are involved with.
Your ITA wnpp bug is being orphaned because of the following reasons:
- It is, as of today, older than 250 days.
- It hasn't had any activity recently.
As this is an automatic procedure, it could of course have something
wrong and probably it would be managing some bugs that are not
intended by owners and submitters (like you) to be orphaned, for
example if the ITA is still of your interest, or there has been
some kind of activity around it. In that case, please retitle the
bug, do it, DO IT NOW! (I don't want to be blamed because of
mass closing and not let people know that they can easily recover
their bugs ;-).
To retitle it, you simply have to mail <control@bugs.debian.org>
with a body text like this:
retitle 279784 ITA: libfile-counterfile-perl -- Persistent counter class for Perl
owner 279784 !
thanks bts
Further comments on the work done in the bug sent to
279784@bugs.debian.org would be truly welcomed.
Anyway, if you have any kind of problems when dealing with
the BTS, feel free to contact me and I'd be more than happy to help
you on this: <damog@debian.org>.
A similar process is being applied to other kind of wnpp bugs.
Thanks for your cooperation,

Ivan,
On 2004-12-27 you registered your "intent to adopt".
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?msg=9;bug=279784
On 2005-10-14 Matej Vela updated the package via a QA upload.

Please explain why you have still not adopted this package before
