I will not be maintaining this package any more. Waimea has gone through
a complete re-write and the new version is available at
http://www.freedesktop.org/Software/waimea in case any one else decides to
pick up the waimea package.

Hi.
I currently inspect the Debian wnpp bug list and search for old ITAs
(Intent to Adopt) that are mistitled.
You have expressed in bug report #279546 [0] the intent to adopt
the package "waimea". The last comment to this from you is dated from
26-02-2005, which is more than three months ago. Do you still intent to adopt
this package? If not, please retitle the bug, substituting "O:" for "ITA:".

Daniel Baumann didn't reply to Frank Lichtenheld when he asked him
about his ITA.
Please prepare a debian package.

There was no need to answer, because I am still working on a package.

Since monday, I'm on vacation and my package will be ready at the end of
the week.

Which indicates to me that I need to use stronger language next time...
I planned to retitle the bugs next week (with an additional mail of
course).

Until upstream or someone other can port Waimea to newer versions of
cairo, the cvs is completely broken and not usuable atm. Neither cairo
0.5 nor 0.6 do work (too new).
I'll investigate more later..

Do you still intend to adopt waimea? (This is just a ping, I'm not
interested in adopting it myself.)

Matej

I haven't heard back from you, so I'm assuming you're no longer
interested. If you are, feel free to retitle the bug again.

Hi,
Note to potential adopters: the upstream author is too busy to continue
development [1], and waimea 0.5 is not really ready for the version of
Cairo currently in Debian [2].

Message #62 received at 279546@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
Hi,
The "waimea" package has been orphaned for a very long time now (in
fact, it's one of the oldest orphaned packages in Debian). I'm going
through such packages, to see if they can be safely removed from Debian,
since noone seems to care about them.
You are receiving this mail because your name showed up somewhere in the
history of the package, or because I think that you might be interested
for some reason, or because you maintain a related/similar package. Are
you interested in adopting this package? Do you know potential adopters?
If so, could you forward them this mail, Ccing the BTS and me?
With no action from anyone, I'll request the removal of this package
from Debian after a month.
Thank you,

waimea is dead anyway, and should be removed right ahead.

Message #78 received at 279546-close@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:
waimea | 0.4.0-7 | source, alpha, amd64, arm, hurd-i386, i386, ia64, m68k, mips, mipsel, powerpc, s390, sparc
waimea | 0.4.0-7+b1 | hppa
Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.
Packages are never removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems.
Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.
Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to 279546@bugs.debian.org.
This message was generated automatically; if you believe that there is
a problem with it please contact the archive administrators by mailing
