I just asked the SF guys to install Motif's development files. I asked
for Open Motif 2.2.3, which is the 'standard' Motif for NEdit. If the
error does not show, I will try to get coax them to install a newer
version of Lesstif.

Does DDD run? This is another app using Lesstif, if it breaks with a
similar error, is would indicate that the error is not with NEdit.

  $ ddd

  Internal error (Segmentation fault).

Oops! You have found a bug in DDD.

If you can reproduce this bug, please send a bug report
to <ddd@gnu.org>, giving a subject like

      DDD 3.3.9 (x86_64-pc-linux-gnu) gets `Segmentation fault' signal

To enable us to fix the bug, you should include the following information:
  * What you were doing to get this message. Report all the facts.
  * The contents of the `~/.ddd/log' file as generated by this session.
Please read also the section "Reporting Bugs" in the DDD manual.

We thank you for your support.

I recompiled lesstif with gcc-3.4 which is what the amd64 maintainers will
eventually migrate to, and nedit and ddd then run perfectly.

I'm sure its safe to close this bug. I guess I should email the debian-amd64
team and ask how I should proceed. (or if I even need to since they're
preparing a new package pool with gcc 3.4)

Thanks!
Ryan
