Package: mixmaster
Version: 3.0b2-1
Severity: normal

I guess the title says it all - mixmaster got installed accidentally
(using aptitude, I believe - pulled in a suggests or something). I saw
that, and after purge, the user account mixmaster remained behind.

I think system accounts should never be removed. The rationale is that
the admin may have copied config files or other stuff owned by the user
to a backup place. like cp -a etc/mixmaster etc/mixmaster.bak. Remoing
the user would leave back files without a real owner, and even worse,
installing the next package would assign a random owner to those files.

If you disagree, please get a consent on -devel, or -policy.

I understand your argument, I just feel that packages should clean up
after themselves; --purge is *purge* after all. I don't feel that
strongly about it, but I'll see what people think.
