Package: devscripts
Version: 2.7.95.1
Severity: wishlist

Hello,
dch ignores DEBEMAIL when set in ~/.devscripts. I'd like to unclutter my
normal environment and rather have Debian related variables in
.devscripts which also enables me to copy that part of the config around
on my various accounts with ease, obviating the need to edit all local
.bashrc and what-not.
Patch attached for 'dch' only.
Enjoy,

Hi,
the first patch was broken in that it munged the changelog entry to
"Your Name <Your Name <mail@address>>" if you set DEBEMAIL to a value
which included your full name. The attached patch should fix that.
Best,

I don't intend to implement this patch: the DEBEMAIL variable is
recognised by scripts in several other Debian-related packages and is
not devscripts-specific. So, as currently documented, the devscripts
config files will recognise devscripts-specific variables only.
(Otherwise I'm going to start getting bug reports about devscripts
behaving differently from other packages in this respect.)
I suggest that you have a file called something like '.bashrc.debian'
containing Debian-specific environment settings, and source it from
.bash_profile and .bashrc.
