Package: parted
Version: 1.6.6-9
While installing sarge (with d-i) on an ARM based Rebel Netwinder, I
saw the following note in syslog:
| GNU parted was miscompiled: the FAT boot sector should be 512 bytes. FAT
| support will be disabled.
Seems that something in parted is broken on ARM.

Message #20 received at 240832@bugs.debian.org (full text, mbox, reply):
16:16 < kyllikki> luther: the fat issue is yet again someone assuming
all arches have packed structs..
16:18 < kyllikki> luther: ie the size of a struct its testing
somewhere is not marked as packed
16:20 < kyllikki> luther: eg __attribute__((packed))

Package: parted
Version: 1.6.16-1
This has been fixed in 1.6.16 by adding a packing
attribute to the union in FatBootSector.
Guillaume Knispel
Marked as fixed in versions parted/1.6.18-0.exp.1.
