When installing fdutils for the first time, it ask if fdmount should
be setuid root or not.  It would be better if it asked using debconf,
to allow translations and automatic answering of the question using
pre-seeding of debconf answers.

Here is the output when installing:

This patch implements this. I've left fdutilsconfig there for now, but
you might like to consider removing it eventually.
