after upgrading libc from 2.3.2-7 to 2.3.2.ds1-10 some open GL
applications do not work anymore.
quake3 for example gives the following error:
....loading /usr/lib/libGL.so.1: QGL_Init: Can't load /usr/lib/libGL.so.1
from /etc/ld.so.conf or current dir: /usr/lib/tls/libGLcore.so.1:

../sysdeps/generic/dl-tls.c: 72: _dl_next_tls_modid: Assertion `result
<= _rtld_local._dl_tls_max_dtv_idx' failed!
glxgears works for some reason.
the nvidia drivers version is 1.0-4496 patched with the minon.de driver
for kernel 2.6.
i have tried reinstalling the driver but no avail. so far it seems only
downgrading libc6 solves the problem.

Same, with www.minion.de patches. But xfree server doesn't load the GLX

About nvidia drivers, just apply the patch available in minion.de and "make
install" in NVIDIA*/ directory [*]. The "graphic" interface is not
necessary and it seems that the error was produced there. With a "make
install" it selects the correct TLS libraries.
Resolved for all similar cases? Sorry it isn't directly related to libc6
packages...
[*] after "--only-extract" (or a similar option) of the official driver package.
