I understand that currently, all minicom configurations must be stored
in "/etc/minicom/minirc.*" files, and that "~/.minirc.*" files only
"overwrite" existing global configurations.

I wish minicom could load configurations from "~/.minirc.*" files for
which corresponding global configurations do not exist.

Furthermore, I wish minicom could also load configurations from
"~/.minicom/minirc.*" files. Placing configuration files in a
"~/.minicom" directory would clean up my home directory the way the
"/etc/minicom" directory cleans up the "/etc" directory.

Thanks,

Jack

Coming soon.

I will not implement this only for Debian, because it requires some
extra code for smooth transition of user configurations. I forward
this part to the upstream maintainer, a piece of code I wrote once,
which does this kind of task, can be found in the package wmwork,
src/wmwork.c, compat().

Kind regards,

Martin
