Subject: Incorrect auto-sizing in dialog-0.9b-20030308-2
Date: Mon, 14 Jul 2003 13:37:30 +0100
Package: dialog
Version: 0.9b-20030308-2

Using dialog like this:

dialog --menu "Test" 0 0 0 "1" "12345678901234"

works fine, generating an automatically sized menu.

Using dialog like this however:

dialog --menu "Test" 0 0 0 "1" "123456789012345"

misses out the last 5.

dialog --menu "Test" 0 0 0 "1" "1234567890123456"

misses off the 6.

Basically, any item longer than 14 characters, will miss off the last
character.

This did not happen with dialog_0.9b-20020814

yes - I saw it (thanks). I'm still in-progress on the wide-character
changes. For that, I got to the point with ncurses that I think it's
working well enough to finish the dialog changes, and spent much of
Saturday working out the interface changes needed to make function-keys
work with ncursesw. I still have to make it edit multibyte strings
properly (was working on that yesterday). And there are 3-4 reports
similar to this, which I have to work on. I'll probably update my
ftp site when I'm done with the wide-character stuff (before continuing
on these bugs).
