Package: wnpp
Version: unavailable; reported 2003-07-12
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the pychecker package for the reasons outlined in my
mail to d-p. Pychecker appears to be orphaned upstream, or atleast I
haven't been notified about new upstream versions for a long time now.

The package description is:
PyChecker is a tool for finding common bugs in python source code.
It finds problems that are typically caught by a compiler for less
dynamic languages, like C and C++. Because of the dynamic nature of python,
some warnings may be incorrect; however, spurious warnings should be
 fairly infrequent.

[Message part 1 (text/plain, inline)]
I'm tenatively looking at adopting this package. I've written the
upstream developers to see whether, as Arto suggests, the package is
really orphaned upstream. If it is orphaned upstream, I don't think
I'll adopt it since I don't have time to act as defacto upstream
maintainer for something like this. However, if they're still willing
to support pychecker, I probably will adopt it, since I use it
regularly.
