I also suffer from this problem on one of my computers after upgrading
testing yesterday.
dselect totaly fails to parse the status file, and I can't figure out
why... I tested with just a single package in the status file, and
dselest fails... What has happend???

I've the same problem with dselect (Internal error etc.)
but if I try to upgrade my dist with
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
the upgrade works.
