now. If you want to be the new maintainer, please take it -- see

instructions how to adopt a package properly.

Description: C malloc debug library
Provides routines that can be plugged in to replace malloc(),
realloc(), calloc(), and free().
.
If you're not debugging, and an allocation fails, FDA will call user
supplied callbacks to allow you to free up some memory or shut down
the program cleanly -- this means you don't have to check the
return values from malloc if you don't want to.
.
For debugging FDA provides a nice toolkit for validating pointers,
checking for leaks, gathering memory statistics, bounds checking and
other nice things. FDA uses shredding, prefix and postfix signatures,
and a liberal amount of predicate asserts.
Justification: bugs, inactive, didn't respond to pings

Hi.
I currently inspect the Debian wnpp bug list and search for old ITAs
(Intent to Adopt) that are mistitled.
You have expressed in bug report #192657 [0] the intent to adopt
the package "fda". The last comment to this from you is dated from
11-07-2003. If you still intent to adopt this package, please consider sending a
short status summary regarding your ITA to the bug report. This would make
it easier to track down obsoleted ITAs.

Hi.
I've send you a mail on December, 21th 2003 to remind you that you have still
an ITA (Intend To Adopt) open for package fda (see [0]).
Since you haven't replied for at least two weeks now I assume that you are
no longer interested in this package and retitled it back to O: (or RFA:).
Of course you can always ITA the package again if noone other steps forward
faster than you.

Hello there, I'm looking for a small package to maintain in order to
allow me to start contributing to Debian.
Is there still need for a new maintainer for this package ?
I'm looking for a small package to start, so tell me if this package
needs a lot of time.
Thanks,
Alexis.

It seems nobody has adopted this package yet. I don't know how much
time the package needs since I wasn't the original maintainer. Your
best bet would be to start looking for the upstream source code to see
if this application is actually still being developed.

Well, it seems it isn't, the homepage quoted in the debian/copyright
file is now giving à 404 error : http://www.inxpress.net/~tomh
I cannot find any fda official webpage with Google...
What should we do then ? Is it still pertinent to maintain such a
package ?

Well, you could take over upstream, or we could remove the package.

This package has now been removed from Debian because nobody was
interested in maintaining it; see
