/usr/share/doc/dia-common/*.dtd should be properly registered with
both SGML and XML catalogs. BTW, SGML catalog registration can be
done using dh_installcatalogs if you are debhelper-inclined.

Subject: dia: DTDs should be registered

Hi,

I read the Debian XML Policy (Working Draft), and noticed that there are
some problems when registering the dia DTDs with our XML/SGML catalogs:

* Dia files usually don't carry a DOCTYPE declaration so DTDs in the
catalogs won't probably be useful

* Dia upstream doesn't ship catalog files (this could be worked around,
but unfortunately, there is also the next point...)

* There are no PUBLIC or SYSTEM identifiers known for diagram.dtd,
shape.dtd and sheet.dtd, so I don't know what to write into the local
catalog file. There are xmlns ids known but those are not necessarily
related to the former ones.

Therefore, the registration will be deferred. But feel free to help
here.

I will talk to upstream to improve the situation.

Thanks.

bye,
  Roland

That's not necessarily a problem. Most XML processing packages can be
told the FPI of the DTD.

It's common that package maintainers have to create or at least modify
catalogs.

That's a serious issue. Probably enough to just kick this bug
upstream?

Yes, that would be best.
