Sometimes people reply to mails in mailinglists with a completely
different content. Mutt has a nice "break thread" function for this,
with probably just removes the "In-Reply-To" headers.
But when i do so, the message will be downloaded again, the modified
message will be uploaded and downloaded again, too.
So i usually end up with 3-4 copies of the same message, i then need to
delete the "right" ones of them.
You might want to assign this bug to mutt, though.

lol, we are playing ping-pong with this bug.

http://bugs.guug.de/db/14/1404.html
this won't be relevant any more, when i remove the necessity for
maildir_trash anyway. this needs a bit fiddling with the expiry of local
messages, though.

Description:
isync - Synchronize a local maildir with a remote IMAP4 mailbox

Changes:
isync (1.0.3-1) experimental; urgency=low
.
* New upstream release. (Closes: #315423)
- Isync now supports breaking and linking threads. (Closes: #177280)
- It also supports unflagging messages. (Closes: #111286)
- IMAP commands are sent asynchronously. (Closes: #226222)
* Kill the old debconf question about upgrades from pre-0.8 versions.
* Use the (now obsolete) swedish and portugese translations anyway.
(Closes: #337771, #378891)
* New debconf note that warns about upgrades from pre-1.0 versions.
* Add a build dependency on po-debconf.
