Hi.
I currently inspect the Debian wnpp bug list and search for old ITAs
(Intent to Adopt) that are mistitled.
You have expressed in bug report #162607 [0] the intent to adopt
the package "xwave". The last comment to this from you is dated from
12-08-2003. If you still intent to adopt this package, please consider sending a
short status summary regarding your ITA to the bug report. This would make
it easier to track down obsoleted ITAs.

Yes, that was the intended response. Thanks for noticing me.
If you have regular problems with the BTS you should contact
owner@bugs.d.o, but one mail lost has happened to me, too. So
if you want to say something about the status of your ITA in
the bug report you should just try again.

No problem, I also send this reply to the bug so at least it is clear
that your still intending to adopt the package.
But what is the status of your ITA? There is a RC against the package so
it would be good to know if something have to do a QA upload.

I retitled this bug to ITA in August 2003, with the intention that it be
one of the packages that I maintain to start being a DD. I received a
friendly message in December asking, very politely, for a status report
[as a part of the process of clearing out old, dead, IPAs; very sensible].
Due to professional obligations in the fall, I have not gotten to the
state of gearing up to apply for DDevelopership. I did do some looking
into the source code for xwave, however, and discovered that it was
_really_ old. I haven't looked at it in a few months, but as I recall
right now, the last serious coding was 1996, and somebody had hacked on it
and fixed some stuff in 1999, but those were the last significant changes.
I'll look through it again in the next few weeks and verify this. If my
recollection is true, then since I'm sure there are other sound editors
that work perfectly well that are maintained, and I'll probably propose
its removal from Debian as a maintained package. If I don't get to it,
then I'll release the ITA and set it back to orphaned. In either case, I
will update the status by the Superbowl.
Thanks for the ping, Frank.

Hi Craig,
I just noticed that your ITA of the package xwave is still open, and I just
wanted to know if it's still your intention to adopt this program. If not,
please retitle the bug, so that the package is orphaned again.
Cheers,
