Subject: lists.debian.org: Request for new list: debian-subprojects
Date: Mon, 09 Sep 2002 11:28:01 -0300
Package: lists.debian.org
Version: N/A; reported 2002-09-09
Severity: wishlist

Name: debian-subprojects@lists.debian.org
Rationale: There are now several Debian subprojects with common
needs within Debian. This list is needed to discuss
those issues among ourselves without having to cross-
post those discussions to four different lists (-devel,
-educ, -jr, -med). Naturally, -devel is still used
when input is required from the developer community
at large, but having a list of our own means we will
have some continuity to our discussions in the archives
which would otherwise be swamped by the massive amounts
           of traffic on -devel.

Long description:
People on this list work on the challenges common to all
internal subprojects of Debian, ensuring that the tools and
procedures developed are shared, making the most efficient
use of our energies.

Hi there,

We don't feel that debian-subprojects is a worthwhile list. Any
subproject that demonstrates sufficient need will have a mailing list
created anyway.

For those that haven't then either debian-project or debian-devel using
[project] tags in the subject list may be better. That will also allow
us to guage the need for a list.

Regards,
Anand
