Package: ppp
Version: 2.4.1.uus-4
Severity: minor

try pon or pppd from an emacs M-x compile command, i.e. not your
regular terminal. Well, unless one uses the "-detach" line in a peers
file, nothing happens. The command just returns with $?=0.
At least say something and/or return an error status.

This is documented and is how pppd is supposed to work.

Isn't it supposed to make a phone call or something?
