reassign 135998 emacsen-common
severity 135998 normal
thanks
I'm downgrading this to normal since it doesn't affect a "regular
installs".
Thanks for the report though, and I'll definitely look in to it.

This problem occured with pbuilder as well.
The "sit-for" requires a tty.
(let ((mailname
(debian-file->string "/etc/mailname" (function debian-clean-mailname))))
(if (not mailname)
(progn
(message "No /etc/mailname. Reverting to default...")
(sit-for 3))
(setq mail-host-address mailname)))

OK, I'll plan to fix this. I'm not even sure there should be a pause
these days. I believe this code may come from as far back as the
Emacs 19 packages :>
Thanks

Looking at ancient bugs in emacsen-common.
This sit-for was removed on 1.4.16, although bug was not closed at that
time.
Closing bug report with the right version.
