Package: wnpp
Severity: critical
I don't seem to have the time to maintain gphoto2 properly for the
Debian project. I'm orphaning the package immediately and I'm not
considering to do official development for Debian anymore.
Severity set to `normal'.

hi :)
i need gphoto2 myself to get the images off my digicam,
so i'm interested in adopting gphoto2.
however, i won't have any time the next two weeks or so,
therefor, i'm not yet officially adopting it.
if anyone else really wants to take it, go ahead.
if noone steps ahead, i will retitle this bug and upload a
new package, as soon as i have the time to do so.

I would like to become maintener for gphoto2.
This package has been orphaned last week.
I have done a package for the last upstream release beta3.
This package is not perfect but fully functionnal.
I need to become a debian maintener so I need someone to check my
password and upload it for me.
You can find the package at:
ftp.ufies.org/pub/galeon/people/christophe/gphoto2
The upstream site is www.gphoto.org

Since I put my head up about this, I thought I'd better do something and not
just moan!
I downloaded the source (gphoto2_2.0beta3-0.1.tar.gz), unpacked it and tried to build it:
chris@shawn $ debuild

dpkg-buildpackage failed!
It's trying to install docs under /usr/share/doc during the build. You
should notice this if you try to build as a non-root user.
I think you should maybe be using DESTDIR= instead of prefix in the make
install in debian/rules, but I haven't managed to make it work properly.

as you might know, i'm interested in that package, too
if you really want that one and are able to properly maintain it,
it's yours

but beta3 still does not really support my digicam
i wanted to package a cvs build or wait for the next upstream release

i'll have a look at it when i have some more time later

A new package is in the debian archive.
This closes the O-ITA story.
