The Java policy document (provided in the java-common package and available
at w.d.o/devel) is not included as a DDP document and is not written using
debiandocsgml (but jadetex). IMHO it should be translated to debiandocsgml
(maintainer might need some help from the DDP team to do so) and published
also under the manuals in the DDP

So WTF are you filing this under www.debian.org? Get those responsible for
the document to include it in the DDP CVS tree and it'll be included... you
can't really expect the web team members to run around and collect each and
every new document about Debian, esp. not to convert them to a different
document format.

Yes I know, but it's a Just for the Record kind of bug. I will try to
help Ola (sp?) to fix java-common for this and contribute the document
to the DDP but AFAIK we do not have a debian-ddp
(ddp.debian.org??) virtual package for the BTW? Should we add it?

And, yes, it's a bug of the WWW development team that allows Debian
documents to be distributed not following the guidelines of the DDP
(please don't take it personally ..... run! ;)

Just out of curiosity - you are part of exactly that team; why not fix
it yourself then?

I intend to do it. However, since I tend to work also from time to
time I prefer to file a bug (as a reminder :) than to leave it
on my PDA or on my head...

It's been almost ten years now, so do you still intend to do it? If not, it
may be time to close this bug.

Regards

David

While updating the maint-guide translation, I just noticed that the
Debian policy for Java is already on line actually.
