Subject: xfig export files unreadable by fig2dev
Date: Tue, 30 Oct 2001 19:09:21 +0100
Package: dia
Version: 0.88.1

I created a simple network drawing, and exported it as an xfig
drawing, planning to automatically convert it to png, eps and pdf.
Running fig2dev on the file gave this error:

  fig2dev -L ps network-arch.fig > network-arch.eps
Invalid color definition: 0 33 #0ff, setting to black (#00000).
Color definitions must come before other objects (line 25).

Loading the file into xfig gave the same problems (gray converted to
black).

I can send example files on request. Creating a simple drawing with
just one object - 'A computer' should provoke the problem.

Hi,

thanks for your bug report. With the current version of dia in Debian
unstable (dia 0.92), at least the error message of fig2dev disappeared.
But the "Computer" looks nearly only gray when opened with xfig where in
dia the front details are drawn black on gray.

I informed upstream at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=133637

bye,
  Roland

Hi,

The original problem "xfig export files unreadable by fig2dev" is mostly
fixed in dia 0.93. A slight ordering problem remains. See the associated
bugzilla bug.

bye,
  Roland

Upstream bugzilla announced it as fixed in 0.96.1.
