Subject: fails to stream to icecast server
Date: Fri, 08 Nov 2024 14:55:54 -0500
Package: butt
Version: 0.1.37-2
Severity: important
I have tried "butt" to try to stream audio to an icecast server, and
I'm somehow failing. It seems to incorrectly be talking to the server,
as the server reports this:
[2024-11-08 14:53:15] INFO connection/_handle_source_request Source logging in at mountpoint "/radio.mp3" from 127.0.0.1
[2024-11-08 14:53:15] WARN format/format_get_type Unsupported or legacy stream type: "audio/mpeg". Falling back to generic minimal handler for best effort.
[2024-11-08 14:53:15] INFO source/source_move_clients passing 0 listeners to "/radio.mp3"
[2024-11-08 14:53:15] INFO source/source_main listener count on /radio.mp3 now 0
[2024-11-08 14:53:19] INFO source/source_main listener count on /radio.mp3 now 1
[2024-11-08 14:53:26] WARN source/get_next_buffer Disconnecting source due to socket timeout
[2024-11-08 14:53:26] INFO source/source_shutdown Source from 127.0.0.1 at "/radio.mp3" exiting
butt never notices the problem, and the stream doesn't actually work.

Control: retitle -1 fails to stream to icecast HTTPS server
Actually, I should clarify it fails to connect to a HTTPS server, a
problem, it turns out, is actually extremely common in various icecast
implementations.
Connecting in plain text (over a tunnel) works.
Changed Bug title to 'fails to stream to icecast HTTPS server' from 'fails to stream to icecast server'.
Request was from Antoine Beaupré <anarcat@debian.org>
