Subject: mawk: Build failure with on ia64
Date: Mon, 9 Jul 2001 10:55:21 -0600 (MDT)
Package: mawk
Version: 1.3.3-5
Severity: serious

Filing this serious since ia64 plans to ship in woody.

When building with gcc 2.96 on ia64:
    cc -g -O2 -Wall -c -o bi_funct.o bi_funct.c
    In file included from bi_funct.c:77:
    /usr/include/unistd.h:310: conflicting types for `read'
    mawk.h:157: previous declaration of `read'

The fix is to remove the definition in mawk.h, at which time the package
compiles.
