This patch makes it easy to override the default gdm theme from another
package.  It's specially useful for Debian-based distributions.

Come on, if we are to do something like this, it should be based on
alternatives, not on such a half-baked solution.

Messing around in /etc/alternatives, really?  Pretty sure that's
update-alternatives' job, why aren't you using it?
