Package: libxft2
Version: 2.1.2-6
Severity: important
I'm unable to start any of the X programs due to error like:
$ firestarter &
firestarter: relocation error: /usr/lib/libXft.so.2: undefined symbol: XRenderQuerySubpixelOrder
Some archives in google suggest that it could be a xlib problem, but
doing:
$ apt-get [-s] -t unstable --reinstall install xlibs
Inst xlibs [4.3.0-7] (4.3.0-7 Debian:unstable)
Conf xlibs (4.3.0-7 Debian:unstable)
Does not change the situation to the better. Futher information here:
# dpkg -l | grep '^ii.*xlib'
ii xlibmesa3-gl 4.2.1-16 Mesa 3D graphics library [XFree86]
ii xlibmesa3-glu 4.2.1-16 Mesa OpenGL utility library [XFree86]
ii xlibs 4.3.0-7 X Window System client libraries metapackage

ii xlibs-dev 4.3.0-7 X Window System client library development f
ii xlibs-static-d 4.3.0-7 X Window System client library development f
Let me know what else to try, or check.

This happens when people have unofficial versions of the XFree86
packages installed.
Unofficial versions of packages are not supported.
Please upgrade to XFree86 4.3.0-7, currently in Debian unstable (sid)
and testing (sarge).
